Decisions are personal to everyone.
Much so ones that involve leaving what
you consider home to venture out into the world for education purposes. Immediately you are faced with questions: Where should I go, How
much will it cost, Is it safe, Do I have the equivalent qualifications, What are the options, What are the benefits?
Concerns and confusion.
With the understanding of what the thought process of studying overseas may bring, The Scholar-y Hive was created. This is a global information platform with the sole aim of providing
students with transparent and necessary resources that they would need when making the decision to study abroad. At the Hive, we believe that better decisions are made when one is informed and not just influenced.
The Scholar-y Hive conducted research among 327 students who are either studying overseas or are aspiring to do so. The survey asked what they would have preferred to have before they made decisions to go overseas and would they have
done things differently? 82% of the respondents answered that there was no resourceful information or content that was tailored for the Tanzanian demographic that they could read and
inform their decision.
5 respondents agreed that the thought of contacting an overseas education agent is an experience
they all find it relatable but expressed concerns about the transparency of information that agents provide them.
With the global world system taking over, studying overseas is becoming a norm and so is the need to have platforms like the Hive where customized and relevant information can be easily obtained.
